8 Best Sneaker Releases of the Week

There aren’t a ton of sneaker releases this week, but what’s arriving is solid. There’s a Black Cat Jordan 4, for the first time since way the hell back in 2006. There are a couple of collabs on newer shoes—like the Adidas LXCON and the Nike React Presto—that deliver in a big way. And there are some more toned-down options, if you’re just on the hunt for everyday shoes that also happen to look great. Check out everything that’s on offer to get the full story.

Air Jordan 4 ‘Black Cat’

SHOP $190, footlocker.com

We saw the pony hair 4s from the Olivia Kim collection last year, but Jordan Brand is finally giving us the first proper retro of the Black Cat 4 since its original release in 2006. It’s a super simple and clean Jordan 4 that goes with pretty much any outfit. Why not?

Release: 1/22

Nike PG 4

SHOP $110, nike.com

The newest iteration of Paul George’s signature model, the PG 4 debuted last week in collaboration with Gatorade. But if you’re looking for something a little more low-key, this colorway is it. The PG 4 is one of the best mid-range hoop shoes you can buy right now, and easier to wear off court than most. It runs small though, so make sure to size up.

Release: 1/24

Adidas Originals Amsterdam

SHOP $109, sneakersnstuff.com

The latest release from the ongoing City Series of reissues, the Amsterdam takes low-key shades of brown and beige, puts ’em together, and leaves it at that. It’s simple—and supremely effective.

Release: 1/24

Puma x Chinatown Market Future Rider

SHOP $120, puma.com

The philosophical successor to the Fast Rider from the ’80s, the Future Rider slims down the silhouette and adds Rider foam underfoot for extra comfort. This version, in collaboration with L.A.-based Chinatown Market, turns up the design with bold, graphic details in a range of understated hues.

Release: 1/25

Nike Air Max 1 ‘Chinatown’

SHOP $130, nike.com

To celebrate Lunar New Year, Nike is looking to New York’s Chinatown and grafting those colors onto an Air Max 1. A Chollima—the mythical winged horse—adorns the heel, while Chinese characters feature on the tongue.

Release: 1/25

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 ‘Yeshaya’

SHOP $220, adidas.com/yeezy

The 350 V2 isn’t new, but this colorway is. Using loads of texture and pattern, it takes simple shades and transforms the upper into something that demands a second look.

Release: 1/25

Adidas x White Mountaineering LXCON

SHOP $220, adidas.com

White Mountaineering brings its penchant for bold, functional, outdoors-inspired design to the LXCON this week. The result is a whole lot of shoe. But, of course, for fans of the aesthetic, that’s the whole point.

Release: 1/25

Nike x Undercover React Presto

SHOP $180, nike.com

This collaborative version of the (sorta, kinda new-ish) React Presto is definitely the best yet, thanks to a chunkier sole and design details courtesy of Undercover designer Jun Takahashi.
